No boring lectures, just roll up your sleeves and get to the binoculars. In the salt mill experiment, the amount of plastic that comes off the grinder was measured and analysed in the laboratory using infrared spectroscopy. We used our model organisms, the water fleas, to show what effects these microplastics can have, as they were quite lively in the block bowls. They also learnt why every individual is needed when it comes to reducing microplastic pollution in the environment.
